Bradbury had initially written short stories about a family, referred to as The Family, who live in The House, the great-Grand-mere being Nef, a mummy who occasionally needs 2000-year old wine to wet her lips. (Some of the stories I remember reading in the “Collected Short Stories of Ray Bradbury”. )Couple of things I didn’t know about the book – one of the short stories here, the first was rejected by all horror magazines, until one such mag decided to use it as a basis of a Theme issue. This led to Bradbury meeting illustrator Charles Addams ( him of the Addams family fame), and they planned to create this book together. however, Addams passed away before the book could be completed.

Ken Kesey – One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest

Another book I had been waiting to read for a long time.

Patricia Highsmith – Ripley’s Game

I had heard of the Tom Ripley books long after the movie was released.
