Is he doing any new Indian films? Has been some time since he had a nice Indian score. I wud prefer a Tamil one. But since Shankar has gone to Harris Jeyaraj this time around I guess we will have to wait.
BTW where do u stand HJ’s music? and shudnt u mebbe use the pic on rediff for this article as ur icon for some time?
Swades is coming out soon – that’s Ashutosh Gowariker’s next movie, it was supposed to be released in August, but has been postponed because post-production is not over yet. The music of Dil Ne Jise Apna Kahaa is being released in a day or two, he has composed 3 of the six songs in the film.
Tamil: I have no idea.
HJ is a good musician, and I bought his first couple of albums ( Minnalae, Majnu, 12B), recently gave me Kaakha Kaakha which was pretty good too. The only reason why I am not enthu about going and buying all his albums ( the way I am with ARR) is the volume of new films of his, and the disturbing ratio of his “inspirations” versus original tunes.
Userpic: I don’t plan to change my lj userpic at any point of time. :)
Kaakha Kaakha was great. it was one of the few casettes that i actually bought. HJ does recycle his songs. But what to do the master seems to have decided that Indian films dont excite him nemore. He reserves his best for certain directors like Maniratnam, Shankar etc. Thats what makes Shankar’s change for Anniyan all the more sad. Hope Swades will be another Lagaan.

Janet Jackson fills the adorable Ayesha Dharker’s shoes and makes the Shakalaka Baby song and dance sequence a bigger phenomenon than it already is.

They’re celebrating our i-day in New York?Why?
“They” = indians, so if they’re in ny and can’t be in India at the time, why not?
