Priom, ex-roommate of mine, fellow game-maniac and currently resident in Bangladesh( from where he conducts his piratical operations and observations ) had this to say about Postal-2, a game he had played and completed, recently.

“Play it, moron!”

Who can resist such a fervent request?

Yeah, so I managed to “procure” the game yesterday. Of course, it was pretty evident that it’s a high-end game, but this is ridiculous – I came to my office and installed it on my machine here, which happens to be a Pentium IV 1.2 GHz machine with a 32 MB AGP card and 256 MB RAM, and this friggin game says “Certain parts of the game cannot be rendered properly because your system does not have adequate resources. ” Whoa! And it used up precisely 1.5 GB of install-space….

But it’s true, Priom, the game’s COOL! You have an antisocial guy who picks up anything, right from a shovel to the money lying on anyone’s table, and unzips his fly and randomly pees on unsuspecting people(“Squeal! Shriek! Somebody call the cops!” “Aaaaaaaaah! The flowers are really gonna bloom today….”), you have crazy loonies who draw guns and let fly if you stand too long in one place. You can kick the dog, snipe at cats, get arrested and abuse policemen( and women). You can even blow yourself up with a special key at any point in the game…the guy says “I regret NOTHING!” and proceeds to chew a grenade. Oooh! Fun!

All these I learnt in the first fifteen minutes into the game. Proceeded to get chewed up/shot at/arrested/blown away about 8 times before it was time to call it quits.

Providing statistics using our Stats framework is not an easy task, as I have learnt today…

A lot of self-control this weekend. Didn’t go and watch Nayee Padosan after all.

Chandru gave me a load of cds on Saturday. Six Beatles cds ( Let It Be has been playing in my discman the past 24 hours ), a Wings double-cd set, a John Lennon collection, a Suzanne Vega Retrospective (which he bought on Friday, it seems), and a Fairport Convention cd. All of which happen to be really good. I love my life.
