Why do I get the feeling that everyone’s going to say ‘Yes’ – yet knowing that as we speak, Beatzo perches in front of his computer with a maniacal glint in his eye, as his mouse pointer hovers above the ‘Bid’ button? :)
It all depends on perspective and what gives you joy. I am sure if you were to ask the same question about a swanky new model of cell phone while you already had a perfectly functional one, no one would call you crazy. People would in fact suggest better and more expensive models.
Thank you for this excellently worded response. I was actually allocating my mp3-player ( it would have been an iRiver ) to this -still haven’t bought it, but complications have come up. :)
After seeing Quitely’s work, I would think you are a minor genius. It is a no-brainer, yeah, but at least you had the intelligence to spot the no-brainer!
I showed a friend this comment and asked him to tell me whether it was a compliment or a putdown.
He reads this a couple of times and says: “2fargon should set Reading Comprehension exercises for CAT applicants. Rape all students.”
i spent $90 to get three bus shelter posters of the movie ‘Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ only ’cause they had a different release date on them (UK release)….
One of my regrets in life is not buying a poster of Spiderman: The Movie. There were two posters on sale at Sangeet theatre, one was a closeup of Spiderman’s mask, and the other a wall-crawling Spidey. I bought the second – and later I realised that the closeup had the WTC towers reflected in Spidey’s eyes, and these posters were withdrawn from public circulation, which effectively meant their value skyrocketed. *sigh*
i have a similar regret with a poster…..went for a U2 concert in cleveland last year…and it was the the Quicken loans arena which was called the Gund arena like 2-3 months back….so all posters said U2 at gund arena……they were on sale for $10….in 2 days time they were on ebay for minimum $130…..should have bought one for myself and a few for ebay…..sigh
But sire, the mass-produced versions contain exactly the same information as the original, don’t they? How is it “one of a kind” then? At least in a way that’s important to you?
Yes. But then, even if you don’t, I will still think you crazy :-S
Boy, and I thought I was confused.
Are you? You are not buying it, because you are too stingy for it.
I GET IT!
You are using reverse-reverse psychology on me!! OMGOMGOMG I GET IT!
D-uh! Yeah, right, I will be watching out for when you place your order. Chicken!
Yes. But on the other hand, I’ll think of you as a truly fearless man for having the cohones to ponder about things that I dare not think of.
Try thinking about it for a while. :)
Yes.
Darn, this isn’t helping.
Sure it is is – it will save you $200!

Away with you, Satan! Can’t you see I am indulging in self-doubt?
Well, even if you didn’t..
No, not at all. Go ahead, buddy. Make your day.
Yes!

I suppose so. What’s so great about the “original”?
Other than the fact that the original is one of its kind? And that it’s drawn by Frank Quitely? I can’t think of anything, I’m afraid!
But sire, the mass-produced versions contain exactly the same information as the original, don’t they? How is it “one of a kind” then? At least in a way that’s important to you?
Do it, that’s awesome.
Still thinking about it, there are other complications now. :)
YES … YES…YES
YES..YES…YES…Please dont waste money…!!
Nice Journal…Came by from a search on Frank Quitely..!

Will me saying ‘YES’ stop you from spending it?
nah, didn’t think so.
It might not, but it sure would give me a little more food for thought.
